table :::. Introduction
The World Chambers' information systems hold business information
covering most nations, and it is the official home
of the global chamber of commerce registry - our ::
ChamberDirectory which lists chambers that are
: local
: regional
: national
: bi-lateral
: transnational
Chambers of Commerce, also known in some areas as boards of trade, are the
key to local markets in many regions - the conduit for business and
trade intelligence concerning a locale, a province/state or even nation. This is
apart from their business membership, their role as a voice of business in
their area, and provider of select program services to their members. At
the international level, chambers issue INCO Trade Terms, ATA Carnets
custom documents and such, and the ICC is the parent of the
International Court of Arbitration.
Chambers can be private bodies or public bodies (in the
latter most any business is automatically a member), depending on the jurisdiction.
Even in the private or 'volunteer' membership areas, chambers are often
by far the largest organized business network. All told, they have some
40 million business members worldwide.
:::.
Clusters
With
over 14,000 chambers in the ChamberDirectory (with individual chamber memberships ranging from a few dozen
to many millions), it is important to not only have a common searchable
database for chambers, but the ability to agglomerate or 'cluster' chambers together
in certain groupings - be that along geographic lines or by other
characteristics.
Such specialized WCN clusters can have major benefits for business,
chambers and government, for example around more focused client and
trade development, and economic development and
export initiatives. By their very design, localized WCN
clusters @ WCN still connect to the global core systems, giving a very
powerful example of 'think global - act local'.
A similar process of clustering has now been started by the WCN around
some of its business services, such as ChamberTrust. While some custom
clusters can and have been built without publicizing them, below is a
selection of both Chamber clusters and examples of some of the new
business clusters.

The 'Discover...' program
When either cluster type is enhanced with extra content (i.e. around
economic development and investment initiatives), the new 'Discover
this Region...' program is used, per examples below.
"Discover..." allows for near infinite permutations and
combinations of customization. If you are interested to learn more about
clusters and the 'Discover...' program for your chamber group or trade,
export and regional economic development initiatives, please ::
